The Statistics Survey Operations (SSO) bargaining team made progress on several proposals during talks with the employer February 15-17.

Hours of work and work-life balance were critical issues for the PSAC-UTE bargaining team during negotiations with Canada Revenue Agency, February 15-17. The team placed a strong emphasis on improved hours of work and remote work options for our members employed by CRA. Our team has made proposals that would provide for better access to compressed work week options, provide enhanced notice when employees’ hours are changed, and ensure employees’ years of service count when decisions are made concerning evening work.

Living through the pandemic radically changed the way Canadians live and work. Everyone had their working life turned upside down. Remote work has become a part of everyday life for many Canadians, including PSAC members.    Our employer must accept that our working lives have changed for good, and that remote work – whether a full time or hybrid system – makes sense for so many reasons.
