Recent public communications from Treasury Board have implied an imminent return to the bargaining table. While there have been some exploratory conversations with the employer and representatives of the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board (FPSLREB) about logistics in the event of a possible return to the bargaining table, there is no confirmed agreement to do so. PSAC agrees that in the event of a return to the bargaining table, a third-party mediator would be advisable. 

Public Interest Commission (PIC) hearings were held for the EB group by the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board November 21, December 12 and 13. The bargaining team and employer both presented their positions and are now awaiting a decision from the PIC.

Treasury Board refused to budge on its wage offer during mediation with the EB group bargaining team, October 24-27.

As we ramp up pressure on Treasury Board to reach a fair contract for more than 165,000 federal public service workers, we are pleased to launch a new online strike training course that members can complete at their own pace.

After two weeks of mediation at the Common Issues table, the federal government put forward a revised wage offer on the last day of talks that would still see more than 120,000 federal public service workers take what amounts to a significant pay cut in the face of record high inflation.
