As mandated by the Pay Equity Act employers are legally required to work with unions to develop pay equity plans. PSAC pays special attention to employment data to ensure our members’ human rights are respected, and at later stages of this process, will ensure that the realities and nuances of members’ jobs are taken into consideration to ensure that the pay equity analysis is based on complete and accurate information.

The PSAC-UPCE collective agreement will expire on August 31, 2024. In preparation for the next round of bargaining, PSAC and the Union of Postal Communication Employees (UPCE) will host a bargaining conference on May 9-11, 2024 in Ottawa.

Treasury Board informed PSAC they will be making changes to the Program and Administrative Services Occupational Group Structure (OGS) review timeline and next steps due to their continued inability to meet the target date of June 24, 2024. Treasury Board is unable to provide a new target date at this time.

PSAC joins other Canadian unions, together representing more than two million workers, calling for the federal government to reinstate its funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

January 27 marks the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camps in 1945 by allied forces, where over 1 million innocent people were systematically murdered by the Nazi regime. This day has been designated since 2005 as International Holocaust Remembrance Day by the United Nations General Assembly.
