PA bargaining: Further mediation dates scheduled as strike votes kick off

Our PA bargaining team will return to mediation with Treasury Board November 11–12 and December 8–9. This follows our recent sessions on September 21–22 and September 29–30, which reinforced just how far apart the two sides remain.

Some members have asked why we continue to meet with an employer that has spent a year and a half pushing concessions and ignoring our priorities — an employer that insulted workers with a wage proposal averaging less than 1% per year. That works out to an average of just $58 a month on your paycheque while the cost of living rises three times as fast.

The answer is simple: our goal is to get a fair deal.

Reaching a negotiated agreement is our top priority. Our PA bargaining team was elected to represent you, and we will continue doing everything we can to bargain in good faith and advance the issues that matter most to you. We won’t stop fighting for the contract you deserve.

At the same time, if Treasury Board refuses to participate meaningfully or take your key issues seriously, we have to prepare for what comes next.

That’s where our upcoming strike votes come in. A strong strike mandate is a critical bargaining tool. It builds the collective leverage we need to get the employer to negotiate a fair contract.

We need your support and participation

Our team will keep fighting for you, but our strength comes directly from your continued support in the workplace:

Every workplace conversation, every black shirt, and every member who gets involved directly strengthens our position at the bargaining table.
