Treasury Board bargaining: Know the issues and help spread the word

Treasury Board is still refusing to move on the issues that matter most: your pay, your job, and your rights at work. Members who know what’s at stake and are ready to speak up can make a big difference.

PSAC’s bargaining backgrounders break down each key issue, so you can have conversations with your coworkers and build the pressure we need to win a fair deal.

Five issues the employer won’t move on

  • Fair wages, not pay cuts: Treasury Board’s offer averages less than 1% per year. With costs continuing to climb, that’s a pay cut. We need raises that keep pace with the cost of living.

  • Stronger job security: Nearly 15,000 members have received WFA notices. We’re fighting for seniority-based rules, expanded retraining allowances, and an end to wasteful contracting out.

  • Strict AI guardrails: We’re fighting for language that bans automated systems from making hiring or discipline decisions, stops intrusive surveillance, and guarantees training and human oversight.

  • Remote work: Clear rules, fair case-by-case assessments, and protection from arbitrary management decisions.

  • Reproductive health support: No one should risk their income or dignity to manage their health. We’re fighting for paid leave for reproductive health needs, flexible scheduling, and dedicated paid leave for end of pregnancy.

Here’s how you can help

Strong collective agreements are won when members are informed and engaged.

  • Download the backgrounders and share them with members in your local.
  • Talk to your coworkers about the issues that matter most to them.
  • Take action now to put pressure on the employer to reach a fair agreement.
