The new government must follow through on its promises to the public service

Yesterday’s Speech from the Throne highlighted the need to reduce the cost of living, build more affordable homes, expand food inspection, support national parks, and increase security in our communities and at our borders. It’s clear the government ideally wants to deliver on all of these priorities, but the reality is, it can’t be done without a robust public service.

L’abolition de 1 100 postes à Service Canada et à l’ARC menace les services publics

Les récentes compressions annoncées à Emploi et Développement social Canada (EDSC) et à l’Agence du revenu du Canada (ARC) mettent en péril les services publics qu’utilise la population chaque jour. 

Hier, EDSC a informé son personnel que 800 postes à durée déterminée seront éliminés à Service Canada le 27 juin. Plus tôt dans la journée, l’ARC a annoncé qu’elle coupera 300 postes et qu’elle étudie la possibilité d’en supprimer 300 autres.
