Victory: Labour board finds government acting in bad faith by delaying dental care negotiations

The Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board (FPSLREB) issued a decision stating that Treasury Board is acting in bad faith by refusing to come to the table to update the dental plan for over 185,000 federal public service workers federal public service workers. This refusal prevents PSAC and Treasury Board from engaging in discussions that are essential to the collective bargaining process.

We have been urging Treasury Board to come to the table for over a year, but they continually refuse. Since PSAC filed an unfair labour practice in June to force the government to act, this decision confirms our position that Treasury Board has not been playing by the rules.

It is unreasonable for the employer to continue to stall while they offer members wages far below inflation at the bargaining table while at the dental table, they refuse to even show up.

Following this decision, we will work to set dates to negotiate the dental plan for PSAC members.  We will provide further information as soon as it is available.
