PSAC’s dental plan complaint finally heard months later

In June, PSAC filed an unfair labour practice (ULP) complaint against Treasury Board for stalling negotiations for a new dental care plan for our members. The complaint was finally heard by an adjudicator January 9 to 12.

In November 2021, we asked members to tell us what your preferences and priorities are to update the dental plan. We received thousands of responses and got a clear message: members want to see improvements that fit their lives.

We filed notice to Treasury Board that we wished to begin negotiations last spring. Treasury Board refused to come to the table to begin discussions. We are confident that we made strong arguments in favour of the employer’s obligation to come to the table to negotiate an improved dental plan.

We are now awaiting a decision and hope to begin the process soon. We will provide further updates as they become available.
