Staff of the Non-Public Funds: Strike action looms as final PIC reports received

With an overwhelming vote in favour of strike action, six NPF bargaining units in Ottawa, Valcartier, Montreal-St. Jean, Bagotville, Petawawa and Kingston are now in a legal strike position and can declare strike action at any point if an agreement is not reached.

Public Interest Commission (PIC) reports for Ottawa, Valcartier, Montreal-St. Jean, and Bagotville have been received by PSAC in addition to final reports for Petawawa and Kingston.

Meetings have been tentatively scheduled between PSAC and the employer to advance our bargaining demands, and to proceed with strike action if necessary.

This is the employer’s final opportunity to come to the table with an offer that values and respects NPF workers and our demands for fair wages, a national pay grid, and good, secure jobs.
