Arbitration hearings for Statistics Survey Operations (SSO) are taking place July 12-14.  

The SSO bargaining team is confident that long overdue, fair wage increases and market adjustments, improvements to job security, hours of work, overtime, premiums, and leave provisions can be achieved in this process. 

SSO members ensure that Canada gets the crucial demographic data it needs, but are the lowest paid workers in the public service (nine per cent below their counterparts), and struggle with precarious employment, job security and securing guaranteed and consistent hours of work.   

An arbitration award is expected by the end of the summer or early fall.
