PSAC's 2021 National Equity Conferences (NEC) will be held November 23-28 under the theme “Engage, Empower, Unite”. At this virtual event, delegates will discuss strengthening the union’s work to advance the human rights and working conditions of all PSAC members.

The four equity conferences are:

• Indigenous
• Racially Visible
• PRIDE
• Access

In addition to providing equity specific space, the NEC includes opportunities to discuss human rights more generally, allyship, and explore areas of intersectionality.

Delegates are eligible to participate in workshops and the resolutions debates of any of the four equity conferences for which they self-identify. However, delegates are only eligible to vote in the elections for the conference they were selected to attend as a delegate. Each equity conference will also elect two members, of which one must be a self-identified woman, as delegates to the PSAC National Triennial Convention. Alternates to these positions will also be elected.

PSAC members interested in attending these conferences as delegates or observers must apply by Friday, July 30 at 5:00 pm EDT. Delegates are selected by their respective components and regions, with priority given to union leaders and activists on human rights issues. Selected delegates will be advised by email by the end of September 2021.
