On February 28, our CFIA bargaining team met with PIPSC negotiators for their CFIA S&A and VM Group. The teams discussed the status of their negotiations with CFIA, their dispute resolution routes, joint activities, and opportunities for cooperation and mobilization moving forward.
This meeting represented a deepening of the cooperation between the two unions. Already our members work alongside each other in workplaces across the country. It only makes sense that we cooperate in bargaining, especially when all three bargaining units are facing proposed changes to hours of work and other working conditions that would drastically alter the nature of work at the Agency.
