NPF bargaining teams return to the table this week as strike continues

PSAC-UNDE bargaining teams for striking NPF workers returned to the bargaining table this week with the assistance of a mediator for the first time since the strike began on January 15.

We exchanged revised proposals and will be back at the table again tomorrow.

While the teams aim to reach a fair contract at the table this week, we’re also continuing to increase our political pressure and garner public support to ensure NPF comes to the table with a new mandate that addresses our key issues.

Members from Ottawa, Kingston, and Petawawa picketed Minister of Defence Bill Blair’s constituency office this morning to hold him accountable to resolve the strike. This follows a meeting with Minister Blair on February 9, where PSAC National President Chris Aylward urged him to intervene.

NPF members in Quebec visited several Liberal MPs this week to remind them that striking NPF members aren't second-class federal public service workers.

We will continue to keep members updated as negotiations continue, and escalation ramps up across Ontario and Quebec.
