Non-Public Funds: Strong strike mandates adopted in Quebec, national mobilization underway

The members of each Non-Public Funds unit in Quebec have formally adopted a powerful strike mandate, signalling their collective commitment to fair and equitable working conditions. These members work at the Valcartier, Montréal-Saint-Jean and Bagotville military bases.

Across the country, other units are planning to hold strike votes before the end of December to join them. PSAC remains fully mobilized as it awaits the report of the Public Interest Commission (PIC), before which we defended our positions, including on fair wages and better working conditions.

The Petawawa PIC was the first to publish a report, which supports our key bargaining demand: the long-overdue creation of a national pay grid for NPF members across the country.

Your continued involvement will strengthen our position and our ability to achieve our goals.

These reports will play an important role in our ability to bargain and advocate for our rights effectively. We will share more information as it becomes available.

PSAC represents close to 600 members of the Non-Public Funds staff on military bases across Ontario, Quebec, the Atlantic and the Prairies. These workers provide services to members of Canada’s military and their families through the Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services.
