Doug Ford’s Bill 124: An Attack on Workers

Bill 124 violates the collective bargaining rights enshrined in the freedom of association guarantee of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.  We cannot let this assault on the rights of workers go unopposed. This constitutional challenge is one part of the Ontario labour movement’s broader campaign to repeal this egregious bill.

PSAC launches campaign in support of public services in the North

Covering the vast geography of Canada’s three northern territories, PSAC represents more workers than any other union in the region, and more than 30% of the employed population across the north.  Members work for all three levels of government - federal, territorial and municipal - from tiny fly-in hamlets to the large cities of Iqaluit, Yellowknife and Whitehorse.

L’indignation du public et des syndicats pousse la GRC à reporter l'adoption de Phénix

Sous la pression des syndicats et de l’opinion publique, le gouvernement fédéral a accepté de reporter le transfert des membres civils de la GRC vers le désastreux système de paye Phénix.

Dans un courriel envoyé le 2 mars, le président du Conseil du Trésor, Jean-Yves Duclos, a annoncé que l’intégration des 4 000 membres civils de la GRC dans la fonction publique, prévue pour le 21 mai 2020, était reportée indéfiniment.

Phoenix delayed for RCMP employees in wake of union and worker outcry

Buckling under pressure from unions and RCMP civilian members, the federal government has agreed to delay moving employees onto the disastrous Phoenix pay system.
