Do you know a retired or former federal public service worker? They may be entitled to $2,500

Thousands of retired and former PSAC members are eligible for up to $2,500 in Phoenix general damages but may not know they can make a claim.

While current members automatically received the amounts on their paycheque in March 2021, the process for members who have left or retired from the federal public service to apply for general damages only opened in December 2021.

PSAC pledges support to Hurricane Fiona and Pakistan flood relief efforts

As Atlantic Canada continues the long road to recovery in the wake of Hurricane Fiona, PSAC’s Social Justice Fund has pledged $25,000 to the Canadian Red Cross as part of the Hurricane Fiona in Canada Appeal to help communities rebuild. The Red Cross is working closely with local, provincial, and federal governments to get humanitarian assistance delivered to people in need as quickly as possible, and with Indigenous communities in the Atlantic to assess damage and needs moving forward.

If PSAC were to write the federal budget, it would look a lot like the CCPA’s Alternative Federal Budget (AFB) for 2023. This progressive take on Canada’s national finances, produced each year in collaboration with labour unions and other partners, offers ambitious, attainable solutions – publicly funded and delivered by public service workers – for a just future in Canada and to reduce our environmental impact on the world.
