As preparations continue for the next round of Treasury Board bargaining, PSAC will host a series of national virtual town halls to provide guidance for members on how to draft effective bargaining demands. 

As part of our ongoing fight to rescind the federal government’s arbitrary one-size-fits-none telework policy for federal public service workers, PSAC is now encouraging members impacted by the mandate to file individual grievances contesting their telework agreements.  

PSAC is pleased to announce that the Ontario Superior Court has approved the settlement agreement reached in the class action involving employees who were required to pay higher pension transfer amounts because of a change in actuarial assumptions when they transferred from the Ontario Public Service to the Canada Revenue Agency as part of the Ontario Sales Tax Administration Reform Process.

The Public Service Alliance of Canada’s National Board of Directors has made the decision to withdraw from the federal government’s meetings on the implementation of the Direction on prescribed presence in the workplace over a lack of real consultation and the government’s unilateral change to a three-day in-office mandate. 

In an important victory for federal public service workers, an arbitration panel has ruled in favour of significant improvements to the Public Service Dental Care Plan (PSDCP) following an arbitration hearing on June 14. This binding arbitration award will lead to important changes to the plan, coming into effect January 1, 2025. 

We heard you loud and clear – the majority of CMs want to maintain their current status and benefits when transitioning to the terms of the Treasury Board collective agreements.

The federal government recently launched its new anti-racism strategy Changing Systems, Transforming Lives: Canada’s Anti-Racism Strategy 2024-2028.  This new strategy is meant to set priorities to fight racism and discrimination in the federal public service, however it does not present pragmatic and long-term solutions to address systemic racism.
