For the first time in eight years, the National Joint Council (NJC) Relocation Directive is undergoing review, with discussions set to begin this summer. This directive outlines the entitlements and support available to federal public service workers who relocate for work.

As part of the National Joint Council (NJC) cyclical review, the Travel Directive will be revised in Fall 2021. The purpose of the Travel Directive is to provide a framework meant to reimburse employees for reasonable expenses incurred while travelling on government business.  The reviewing process differs from traditional collective bargaining. To ensure that we succeed in achieving this process, member participation and direct input is critical.

Cybersecurity workers at Canada’s Communications Security Establishment (CSE) are participating in strike votes after the collapse of bargaining talks and as their request for binding arbitration was rejected by management. Voting will close on February 24.
