This occupational group of 7,000 employees in the Canada Border Services Agency is responsible for the planning, development, delivery or management of the inspection and control of people and goods entering Canada.

The PSAC Negotiator for our FB group was contacted by Treasury Board and told that the employer has a new mandate.  As a result, we are in the process of setting dates to return to the bargaining table during the week of March 19th.  

December 19, 2017

With the Public Interest Commision (PIC) mediation attempt having failed in October, our FB bargaining team proceeded to hearing on November 2, 6 and 23 at the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations Employment Board (FPSLREB).

Our union and our bargaining team have made it clear that we are not interested in concessions.

November 9, 2017

As per the Public Service Labour Relations Act, our FB bargaining team filed for conciliation earlier this year when it became clear that the employer was not prepared to seriously address our issues.

Unfortunately we made no progress in mediation, with Treasury Board and the CBSA demonstrating no movement on the issues raised by our team in bargaining.

Recently, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has announced a planned change to its part-time policy. PSAC-CIU has made clear that it is opposed to such changes.

Our PSAC/CIU bargaining team for the FB group broke off talks in February after spending three days in mediation with the employer and making no progress on our key priorities. Also, CBSA continued to push concessions.
