Wednesday, November 1, the Joint Committee on rates of pay for ED-EST (12 months) held its first meeting. The Memorandum of Understanding found in Appendix N of our new collective agreement describes the mandate of this committee, which is comprised of union and employer representatives.

After much delay on the part of the employer, Treasury Board and PSAC have finally signed collective agreements for the PA, EB, TC and SV bargaining units.

PSAC has been pushing the government to sign four collective agreements by the end of May, but the employer is insisting they won’t be ready until mid-June at the earliest.

After an extensive survey of all members covered by the PSAC Public Service Dental Plan, we are going to the table to negotiate improvements to our Dental Plan. We have tabled our initial proposals and will be back at the table in May.

Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada working for Treasury Board have accepted new collective agreements that contain no concessions for four bargaining units representing more than 100,000 workers.

In order to prioritize the workload of the compensation community and to allow Phoenix pay-related matters to be addressed first, the Treasury Board has recently issued an information bulletin to departments providing direction regarding automatic compensatory cash-out.

PSAC is currently preparing the ratification kits for the EB membership. These kits will explain the changes that were negotiated and why our EB Bargaining Team is recommending that members accept this tentative agreement.

On January 21, 2017, after two-and-a-half years of negotiations, our EB bargaining team finally reached a tentative agreement with Treasury Board.
