CFIA Bargaining: New round of contract talks begin next week

CFIA bargaining team, elected in October 2018.

The first negotiating session for a new collective agreement with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) will be held in Ottawa between February 26 and 28.

PSAC’s more than 3,500 members at the CFIA will be represented by a bargaining team elected at the Bargaining Conference last October.

The current collective agreement with the CFIA expired at the end of 2018 but the employer was unavailable to meet until next week.

Despite these delays, PSAC’s bargaining team is committed to advancing members’ interests and concerns as efficiently as possible over the coming months. The full package of bargaining proposals from the union as well as CFIA will be made available online after next week’s meetings.
