Yvon Barrière was reelected Regional Executive Vice-President for Quebec at PSAC-Quebec’s 11th Regional Convention in June 2023. He was first elected REVP Quebec in 2018. He previously held the position of Quebec Regional Vice-President for the Union of Safety and Justice Employees (USJE).

Yvon is a family man devoted to his three children and two adorable grandchildren, and has long been involved with various sports and community organizations. In his capacity as a correctional program officer from 2002 to 2014, Yvon had a reputation for empathy and working constructively with the prison community.

Yvon co-chairs the work on two national portfolios: official languages, including the National Committee for the Protection of French, and directly chartered locals. He is also in charge of organizing and a member of the EB bargaining team. At the regional level, he is Vice-President on the FTQ Board and sits on the Board of Directors of the FTQ Solidarity Fund.
