PSAC has officially launched a new round of negotiations with Treasury Board for more than 120,000 members in the PA, SV, TC, and EB groups, including over 10,000 TC members who provide specialized technical support and expertise to government departments and agencies. This work includes inspecting aircraft, ships and trains, ensuring food quality and safety, protecting our oceans and wildlife and assisting search-and-rescue operations.
Our bargaining team is putting forward clear demands shaped directly by the input received from members across the country, including job security, improving work-life balance with enhanced leave provisions, and workplace protections.
Our TC bargaining team met with the employer June 18-19 to exchange bargaining proposals.
While a comprehensive wage proposal will be submitted later in the process, securing improved wages and job-specific allowances remains a top priority this round.
Key issues at the table
Important issues raised by TC members in this round include parity with other law enforcement occupations in the public service, improved telework provisions, new reproductive health language (incl. menopause and pregnancy loss), protections against discipline, abuse of authority and safe disclosure, and enhanced overtime, standby and shift premium provisions. The team also tabled proposals aiming to make bereavement leave, family related leave and leave for pregnant employees more inclusive.
The TC bargaining team will return to the table September 17–18.
