SV group launches a new round of negotiations with Treasury Board

SAC has officially launched a new round of negotiations with Treasury Board for more than 120,000 members in the PA, SV, TC, and EB groups, including over 10,000 SV members including firefighters, tradesworkers, storespeople, cooks and hospital workers, lightkeepers and ships' crews.

Our bargaining team is putting forward clear demands shaped directly by the input submitted by members across the country, including recognizing the value of your work, stronger job security, and fair wages.

Our SV bargaining team met with the employer June 11-12 to exchange bargaining proposals.

While a comprehensive wage proposal will be submitted later in the process, securing fair wages and stronger job security remains a top priority this round.

Key issues at the table

Top priorities raised by for SV members in this round include fairer compensation that helps to close wage gaps compared to workers in similar roles outside the federal public service and better job security, with a focus on protecting positions from contracting out. The proposals are aimed at tackling the real challenges workers face every day — unequal treatment, inconsistent policies, unsafe working conditions, and burnout driven by excessive workloads and unrealistic expectations from management.

The SV bargaining team will return to the table September 17-18.
