The Public Service Health Care Plan provides coverage for a wide variety of health-related products and services for the majority of Public Service Alliance of Canada federal public service workers. However, as with any health care benefits plan, certain restrictions apply.
Before incurring expenses for a product or service, you should read the related provisions to ensure you understand the parameters of what is covered by the Plan. Many items that are covered by the PSHCP are subject to maximum eligible expenses, and general exclusions and limitations.
How does PSAC negotiate the Health Care Plan on behalf of members?
- PSAC negotiates the PSHCP directly with Treasury Board, together with other bargaining agents of the National Joint Council (NJC) and the National Association of Federal Retirees (NAFR), representing retired members. This is done outside of the regular collective bargaining process for your collective agreement.
- We began negotiations in April 2021. Please see the links below for further updates.
- Our proposals were developed through membership consultation. We collected input through a survey on the PSHCP we shared with members in the fall of 2017.
