Union Bargaining Team and Mint administration to discuss the setting of bargaining dates. 

As per the Canada Labour Code, our Union this week sent the Royal Canadian Mint notice to bargain for a new contract for members of Locals 70024 (Ottawa) and 50057 (Winnipeg). In the coming days our Negotiator will be speaking with the Mint to set dates to begin bargaining for a new collective agreement. 

In preparation for negotiations our Locals are engaging in consultation with our membership, including a call for input from the membership and the collection of bargaining suggestions from staff in all departments. If you have not yet supplied input for the coming round of negotiations, be sure to do follow up with a member of our Bargaining Team to find out the timeline for your respective local. 

This is our opportunity to make the Mint a better place to work. 

We are determined in this round to both protect what we achieved in previous rounds of negotiations, and to address on-going problems at the Mint.
