PSAC has signed an agreement with Treasury Board, bringing 600 civilian RCMP members to join the more than 120,000 existing PSAC members under Treasury Board representation.
In a national ratification vote held last May, PSAC and the Union of Safety and Justice Employees (USJE) members working for the RCMP voted in favour of ratifying their tentative agreement. Under the new contract, members will benefit from stronger bargaining power and greater support. These improvements are the result of priorities identified by members.
Highlights of the new agreement include:
-
Protection of the RCMP civilian members’ sick-leave system.
-
Rates of pay for employees in the Forensic Laboratory and Identification – Forensic Identification Technician (FLI-FIT) group will be aligned with the pay for equivalent positions in the Clerical and Regulatory (CR) group and the General Technical (GT) group.
-
Additional personal leave days, a new 37.5-hour work week with two paid breaks, and better leave bank values;
-
Benefits for fitness, relocation, funeral and burial expenses, and retirement maintained; and
-
Grievance process enhanced through the collective agreement.
What’s next?
The new terms and conditions will take effect November 27, 2025.The new contract language will be automatically appended to the collective agreements of the PA, TC, SV and EB groups.
