Delegates at the 2021 PSAC Prairies Regional Triennial Convention re-elected Marianne Hladun as Regional Executive Vice-President (REVP) by acclamation. Krysty Thomas of Agriculture Local 30048 was also elected Alternate REVP by acclamation.
PSAC Prairie Region’s first virtual convention, held June 24-27, welcomed 255 delegates and 59 observers.
“It is truly an honour to be re-elected to represent PSAC members across the Prairies and I am looking forward to tackling the challenges we have ahead of us,” said Hladun. “The pandemic has fundamentally changed the way we work, and we need to adapt the way we do things to ensure PSAC members are leaders in a post-pandemic future.”
An active PSAC member for over 25 years, Marianne has held the position of Prairies REVP since 2012. She co-chairs the National Board of Directors (NBoD) Standing Education Committee and chairs the NBoD Political Action Committee. Marianne also oversees bargaining for the Royal Canadian Mint, the Program and Administrative Services (PA) Treasury Board group, and the Treasury Board Common Issues group.
Marianne brings her wealth of experience to regional and national bargaining, having been a part of 31 regional bargaining units. She will continue to prioritize regional union solidarity, political action and coalition building to ensure the issues of Prairies members are heard at every level of government.
