A recently leaked Treasury Board document suggests the government is considering forcing federal public service workers back to offices five days a week by January 2027.
This week, our PSAC-UTE bargaining team contacted the CRA to remind the Agency that, under federal law, a statutory freeze applies during bargaining, which means the employer cannot impose new rules or changes to working conditions without our union’s consent.
We also reiterated that remote work remains a key issue for PSAC-UTE members at CRA. In negotiations, our team has proposed clear, enforceable language to ensure fair and consistent access to remote work.
We are back at the bargaining table with the CRA the week of December 15.
