PSAC is getting ready for the next round of bargaining for over 4,180 members working at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). As the first step in this process, we need to hear from you.
What would you like to see in your next collective agreement? This is your opportunity to share your ideas with us. Your participation is crucial to our strength as a union and our fight to improve working conditions.
You can send us your proposals by filling out the online form. We are accepting input until June 30, 2025.
The proposals will be reviewed and brought to the next bargaining conference to be held from October 28 to 30, 2025 in Ottawa, where delegates from locals across the country will prioritize them for negotiations. Talks for the next contract are expected to begin soon afterwards.
The current collective agreement expires December 1, 2025.
Please keep your personal contact information up to date to receive more updates as we prepare to negotiate your next contract.
PSAC CFIA members work a wide variety of jobs that maintain the health of Canada’s environment and people. These jobs include meat, poultry and produce inspection, as well as monitoring and auditing federally regulated inspection programs of the food industry in Canada. Members also enforce federal laws, run the offices, maintain the equipment and buildings, and carry out the administrative work of the CFIA.
