CFIA bargaining team reaches tentative agreement

After spending a final week negotiating with the employer, the CFIA bargaining team has reached a tentative agreement on behalf of over 4,000 members working at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

The tentative agreement includes a wage increase totalling 12.6% compounded over the four-year agreement from 2021 to 2025, a pensionable one-time lump-sum payment of $2,500, new telework provisions, improved protections around job security, and new language that will create more inclusive workplaces.

A full explanation of the tentative agreement and ratification kit will be available in the coming days. The CFIA bargaining team unanimously recommends ratification of the agreement.

PSAC members working at CFIA will be invited to participate in an online ratification vote. Details will be shared as soon as possible. Ratification is an essential part of the bargaining process so please update your contact information to ensure you receive your credentials to vote.
