On Canada’s Parks Day, we celebrate the natural and historic places that bring people together, and the workers who care for them, day in and day out.
This year, parks and historic sites are busier than ever, with free admission bringing more visitors across the country. Behind every visit are dedicated Parks Canada workers: the trail crews who keep paths clear and safe, the maintenance workers who repair boardwalks and buildings, the visitor service staff who greet people at the gate, and the interpreters who help visitors connect with a park’s history and wildlife.
Our members at Parks Canada are those workers. It's often physical, outdoor, hands-on work, done in every kind of weather, so that everyone’s visit goes smoothly.
Our members take pride in protecting Canada’s natural and cultural heritage and helping people connect with it.
This Parks Day, we invite you to visit a park or site, and while you're there, take a moment to thank the workers you see, and think about everything that happened behind the scenes to make your visit possible.
