The Liberal government is recklessly undermining PSAC members by forcing them to pay taxes on Phoenix damages, clawing back the compensation owed to more than 140,000 federal public service workers impacted by the pay debacle.
The government has been withholding key information from Canada Revenue Agency, preventing them from changing their opinion on the taxability of damages. That’s simply unacceptable, and rubs salt in the wound of every single PSAC member who’s been impacted by the Phoenix pay system.
PSAC members deserve full compensation for enduring five years of Phoenix pay problems.
That’s why we’re asking you to call your MP and tell them that Phoenix general damages shouldn't be taxed. The CRA will listen to enough pressure from MPs. This decision can be reversed.
