The determination of which employees will be subject to layoff is based on Parks Canada policies.
Parks Canada’s Staffing Policy states the following:
“To determine which employees are to be laid-off and the order in which they will be placed on a layoff recall list, the Agency:
- Provides for alternation; and
- Where there are two or more employees performing similar duties, the following criteria is used to determine the order of layoff and the order in which they are placed on the list:
- competence as the primary criterion; and where appropriate,
- related experience and future operational requirements.”
