PSAC and CFIA sign collective agreement

PSAC and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) have signed the new contract which was ratified by the membership in November. The CFIA bargaining unit accounts for over 4,200 federal public service workers. PSAC has now signed collective agreements for nearly 125,000 federal public service workers in the last 3 months.

Implementation period begins

The formal signing of the agreement means that with the exception of monetary provisions, which are retroactive, new contract terms are immediately in effect. CFIA has 180 days to implement wage increases, wage adjustments and allowances. In view of this extended implementation timeline, which is normally 90 days, PSAC negotiated a $500 lump sum payment for members.

Please update your contact information via the member portal to continue receiving information about implementation of the current collective agreement and the Phoenix settlement.
