Send a letter to demand better for workers and people with disabilities

Canada has not been a global leader in advancing inclusion and accessibility for persons with disabilities. And with the recent Carney government budget, matters will only worsen for workers and people with disabilities in Canada. There are no new investments for promoting inclusive, disability-confident workplaces for public service workers, or funding for programs that support workers or jobseekers with disabilities to find work or advance in their careers. And there is no named Minister responsible for the persons with disability portfolio within Prime Minister Carney’s cabinet. This raises serious concerns about who will be responsible to advancing progress for accessibility and inclusion for persons with disabilities in Canada.

On this International Day for Persons with Disabilities, write to the Honourable Patty Hajdu - Minister of Jobs and Families, the Honourable Sean Fraser - Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, and the Honourable Shafqat Ali - President of the Treasury Board of Canada to demand better for workers and people of diverse abilities in Canada.
