PSAC honours Arab Heritage Month

April marks Arab Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Arab communities across Canada.

Arab workers have long been part of Canada’s labour movement, organizing for fairness, dignity, and better working conditions. Their contributions continue to shape our workplaces, our communities, and our collective fight for justice.

This year, Arab Heritage Month takes place at a time of profound grief across Arab communities in Canada and around the world. They are witnessing the devastating human toll of ongoing violence in their home countries. The labour movement has long stood against racism, colonialism, and war, and in support of people’s right to live and work in peace and security.

At the same time, many Arab members are facing a rise in anti-Arab and anti-Palestinian racism here in Canada — including in their workplaces. This reality makes it even more important that we show up for one another and take meaningful action.

This April, we invite all members to learn, reflect, and practice solidarity. PSAC will continue to build a union where every worker is respected, protected, and heard.
