Three years after the Rana Plaza collapse

Rana Plaza workers rallyOn this third anniversary of the Rana Plaza collapse, Canadian trade unions are calling for continued vigilance to ensure that Bangladesh’s garment workers are treated fairly and do not need to continue to risk their lives to earn a living.

In February 2016 a Canadian trade union delegation visited Bangladesh. The delegation included representatives from the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC), the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC), Unifor, and the United Steelworkers (USW). You can read their full statement on the CLC website.
