PSAC urges Finance Minister Morneau to invest in public services

In response to the Liberal government’s first fiscal and economic update, the Public Service Alliance of Canada calls on Finance Minister Bill Morneau to move forward on commitments to re-invest in public services as part of the government's economic recovery plan.

“We urge the Minister not to allow the economic damage done by the previous Conservative government to stand in the way of the real change that Canadians want, and that includes strong public programs and services,” said National PSAC president Robyn Benson.

The Finance Minister said that Canadians will have opportunities to have a say in the development of the 2016 federal budget . The PSAC will be making the arguments for progressive taxation measures to bring in more revenue, and for investment in public services and programs that stimulate economic growth, including a national child care program, and the expansion of the Canada Pension Plan.
