The 2017 Public Service Employee Survey (PSES) was launched Monday and is being rolled out to departments this week. Members will have from Aug. 21 to Sept. 29, 2017, to complete the questionnaire.
The PSES is administered every three years. It differs from the annual survey introduced in February, which assessed employee opinions on priority issues. The results of the 2017 PSES, which will become available in spring 2018, will help us better understand and analyze the annual survey results released in June.
The 2017 PSES includes questions about employee engagement, your job, working conditions, harassment and discrimination. At the union’s request, it also asks a few questions about pay problems resulting from Phoenix
The survey is conducted under the authority of the Statistics Act, which ensures that your responses are kept confidential and used only for statistical purposes. The survey takes about 20 to 25 minutes to complete. Managers have been directed to allow enough time for you to complete the survey during your workday.
The PSAC strongly supports the PSES. It provides the employer and the union strong statistical information that support positive changes in the workplace. We encourage you to take the time to complete the questionnaire.
