Our bargaining team met with Parks Canada during the week of October 16, 2017.
Despite assurances that workers would not be disadvantaged when Parks Canada transitioned to agency status, during this round of bargaining the employer is refusing to include the same protections, benefits, and opportunities that other federal public servants obtained.
This treatment is shocking and disappointing, especially when the exceptional efforts and commitment from the membership has ensured the success of Canada 150 initiatives in Parks Canada locations across the country.
We share your frustration that we have not yet reached a tentative agreement, but our bargaining team refuses to settle for an agreement that leaves our members vulnerable.
More work is needed in order to protect the membership from coast, to coast, to coast. We appreciate your support and patience as we continue in this fight.
Your team will be back at the table in November in an effort to reach an agreement during this round of bargaining.
