PSAC's members working at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) are meeting this week in the National Capital Region for a three-day bargaining conference.
Delegates from across the country will gather on October 2-4 in order to prepare for upcoming negotiations for a new collective agreement. Throughout the conference, the delegates will:
- learn about the collective bargaining process;
- review bargaining proposals and discuss priorities;
- develop mobilization strategies; and
- elect their bargaining team members.
The most recent agreement between CFIA and PSAC was ratified by the members at the end of February and signed in July 2018.
The four-year collective agreement, which will expire at the end of December 2018, includes an updated definition of ‘family’, improved leave provisions, improved member protections, unchanged sick leave, and improved monetary compensation for members.
