CFIA bargaining team discusses non-monetary proposals

Our bargaining team met with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency from March 8-10 in Ottawa. The parties discussed a number of non-monetary proposals that were tabled by the union back in September 2015. These include proposals on health and safety, education leave, statement of duties and no contracting out.

CFIA transformation project

The employer made a presentation on the agency’s “transformation” project and took questions from our bargaining team.

Sick leave/short term disability plan

CFIA did not table a revised proposal on sick leave /short term disability plan as expected, as they are awaiting direction from the Treasury Board Secretariat.

Future bargaining dates

The team set future bargaining dates for April, June, July and October 2016.
