Frequently asked questions

    What is changing?

PSAC is moving from the previous desktop member portal login experience to a new member portal that is available as a mobile app and through a web browser.

The new PSAC-AFPC member app lets you update your contact information, access your digital membership card and use other membership services from your phone. If you prefer to use a computer, you can access the web version at portal.psacunion.ca or select “Member Login” at the top of this web page, using the same username and password.

Why is PSAC making this change?

The new portal makes it easier to stay connected with PSAC and access the tools you need. It gives members a single, more convenient place to update their contact information, access their digital membership card, view collective agreements, receive updates and more.

I did not receive an email. How do I log in?

If you did not receive an email, you can set up your account on a computer or tablet at portal.psacunion.ca or by selecting “Member Login” at the top of this web page and registering yourself. If you have any issues, please contact your PSAC regional office.

    How do I get started?
    • Active members who have a personal email address on file will receive an email from PSAC with a unique username and temporary password.
    • Look for an email from PSAC with your unique username and temporary password.
    • Download the PSAC-AFPC member app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
    • Open the app and sign in using the username and temporary password provided in the email.
    • You will be prompted to create a new password when you first sign in.
    • Keep your login information secure. You can use the same username and password to access the web version at portal.psacunion.ca or select “Member Login” at the top of this web page.
    • If you do not receive an email with login information, you can register at portal.psacunion.ca or by selecting “Member Login” at the top of this web page. If you have any issues, please contact your PSAC regional office.
Can I still access the portal from my computer?

Yes. While the new portal is designed to work conveniently on your mobile phone, you can also access it from a computer at portal.psacunion.ca or by selecting “Member Login” at the top of this web page.

Use the same username and password you created when setting up your account in the app.

Do I need to download the app?

The app is the easiest way to access PSAC membership tools and updates on the go. However, you can also use the web version of the portal on a computer at portal.psacunion.ca or select “Member Login” at the top of this web page.

Where can I find my username and temporary password?

Active members with a personal email address on file will receive their unique username and temporary password by email. Check your inbox and junk or spam folders.

If you do not receive an email, PSAC may not have a personal email address on file for you. You can register at portal.psacunion.ca or by selecting “Member Login” at the top of this web page. If you have any issues, please contact your PSAC regional office.

What if I cannot sign in?

First, make sure you are entering the username and temporary password exactly as they appear in the email from PSAC. If you have already signed in once, use the new password you created during setup.

If you still cannot access your account, contact the PSAC Enquiries team at [email protected].

What if my contact information is incorrect?

Once you have signed in, you can review and update your contact information directly in the member app or web portal. Keeping your information up to date helps PSAC send you important union news, event information and other communications.

I already have an account to submit my claims/expenses; do I need to do anything different?

Your existing credentials will not work in the new system. To access the Member Expense Portal, including claim submission, you must register for the new PSAC-AFPC member app or web portal.

If you have not received an email with your new registration details, you can register at portal.psacunion.ca or by selecting “Member Login” at the top of this web page. If you have any issues, please contact your PSAC regional office.

I need help. Who should I contact?

Contact your PSAC regional office for help with registering. For help with downloading the app, signing in or accessing the portal, contact the PSAC Enquiries team at [email protected].
