Why does it take years to reach a new collective agreement in the federal public service? PSAC’s new video looks at one of the biggest problems in the current system: outdated rules under the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations Act (FPSLRA) that create barriers at the bargaining table and slow the path to a new agreement.
Our TC bargaining team continues to strongly advocate for our fishery, wildlife and environmental enforcement officers, and the critical work they perform.
After 822 days without a contract and a long round of bargaining, PSAC-UCTE members at NAV CANADA voted in favour of the tentative agreement reached with the employer last month [5]. This agreement brings wage increases and improvements to working conditions thanks to the hard work of our bargaining team and members across the country.
PSAC members at Valcartier Garrison are raising serious concerns after their employer took an unusual step that interferes with workers’ democratic rights.
After declaring impasse in February 2026 [8], the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board informed PSAC-UTE that it will appoint a mediator.
Our Parks Canada bargaining team was back at the table with the employer on March 25–26, 2026, continuing the fight for fairness and stability at work by pushing the priorities members identified.
Ratification votes for PSAC-UCTE members at NAV CANADA will begin March 31 at 9pm ET and end April 1 at 11:59pm ET.
PSAC members representing the Customs and Immigration Union (CIU) gathered in Ottawa from March 24 to 26 for the FB National Bargaining Conference to elect their bargaining team and set priorities that will drive the next round of negotiations for the Border Services (FB) group.
Bargaining Updates
PSAC-UCTE reached a tentative agreement with NAV CANADA thanks to the incredible hard work and dedication of our bargaining team and the tremendous support of our members.
SV bargaining: Team pushes for stronger protections as employer rejects group-specific proposals [15]
Our SV bargaining team met with Treasury Board on March 11-12 to push for stronger job security, improved family leave, and fair compensation for specialized workers.
Since reaching impasse, many members have been asking what this means for bargaining and what comes next. One thing is clear: our work has not stopped. Our PA bargaining team met in caucus March 11–12 to analyze options and prepare for the next phase of negotiations.
Our PSAC-UCTE bargaining team is pleased to share some of the details of the tentative agreement reached with NAV CANADA. The agreement was possible because of the dedication and perseverance of our bargaining team and members across the country who joined the fight for a fair contract.
