Bargaining for the members at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency [10](CFIA) began August 23-25 as the bargaining team exchanged proposals at their first meeting with the employer. The CFIA bargaining team received a strong mandate from members at the CFIA bargaining conference [11]to address key priorities at the table.
At PSAC’s national convention this year, members worked together to pass a progressive budget, and several resolutions, to build on the important work of our union in bargaining, organizing, human rights and mobilization.
PSAC and the Union of Taxation Employees – representing more than 35,000 workers at the Canada Revenue Agency – have declared impasse in negotiations after eight months of negotiations and continued calls for concessions from the agency, including during our latest round of talks August 31 to September 1.
