PA PIC report: Recommendations a step forward but fall short of inflation  [1]

The Public Interest Commission (PIC) report for the PA and Common Issues tables offers a pathway to make gains for workers, but still falls short of PSAC’s demands to reach a fair contract that keeps up with the rising cost of living.

CFIA: Employer tables concessions in response to PSAC proposals [2]

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) tabled unacceptable concessions when they met with our bargaining team January 31 to February 2. The employer's proposals would roll back provisions currently found in the collective agreement, including employment transition, hours of work, call-back pay, standby and reporting pay.

The Common Issues bargaining team will continue talks April 2-6, followed by the PA, SV, TC, EB teams April 11-14.

EB members: PIC report advances bargaining to next step [6]

PSAC has received the Public Interest Commission (PIC) report for the Education and Library Science (EB) group following hearings that wrapped up on December 13. Following the same pattern as the TC PIC report [7] and the SV PIC report [8], the report unfortunately does not provide clear recommendations other than a return to the bargaining table.

FB bargaining: Team discusses firearm and telework issues while employer pushes concessions  [9]

The new year brought new bargaining dates for our FB team as we returned to the table with Treasury Board/Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) from January 31 to February 2, picking up where we left off in December. With the last day of this bargaining session coinciding with the FB day of mobilization on Feb 2, the team was re-energized with support from members across the country.

SV group: PIC report gives little direction [8]

PSAC has received the Public Interest Commission (PIC) report affecting more than 10,000 members in the SV group. Hearings concluded in November and unfortunately, similar to the TC PIC report [13], the report provides no clear direction other than a recommendation that both parties return to the bargaining table.

FB bargaining: Show your support for the team on February 2  [15]

Have you ever felt stuck in a loop? Our FB bargaining team knows the feeling all too well. As mobilization ramps up for this round of bargaining, it's becoming increasingly clear that CBSA has little more to offer than a Groundhog Day-type scenario, with the same inconsiderate proposals and attitudes we've already seen countless times.
