Victory: PSAC secures major improvements to the Public Service Dental Care Plan in arbitration [1]

In an important victory for federal public service workers, an arbitration panel has ruled in favour of significant improvements to the Public Service Dental Care Plan (PSDCP) following an arbitration hearing on June 14. This binding arbitration award will lead to important changes to the plan, coming into effect January 1, 2025.

$2,500 lump sum payments: Some Treasury Board and agency members experiencing issues [9]

It has come to our attention that this payment has been clawed back for some members who were receiving Employment Insurance (EI) benefits at the time when they received the lump sum. This most notably applies to seasonal employees and those who were on parental leave. It may also apply to members who were on leave without pay due to illness or injury and who were receiving EI sickness benefits.

Joint update from the Pay Equity Committee [13]

As mandated by the Pay Equity Act employers are legally required to work with unions to develop pay equity plans. PSAC pays special attention to employment data to ensure our members’ human rights are respected, and at later stages of this process, will ensure that the realities and nuances of members’ jobs are taken into consideration to ensure that the pay equity analysis is based on complete and accurate information.

PA Group: PSAC files policy grievance against employer for mishandled transfer of members to Treasury Board [14]

PA Group: Update on Occupational Group Structure review  [16]

Treasury Board informed PSAC they will be making changes to the Program and Administrative Services Occupational Group Structure (OGS) review timeline and next steps due to their continued inability to meet the target date of June 24, 2024. Treasury Board is unable to provide a new target date at this time.
