PSAC has received the Public Interest Commission (PIC) report affecting more than 10,000 members in the SV group. Hearings concluded in November and unfortunately, similar to the TC PIC report, the report provides no clear direction other than a recommendation that both parties return to the bargaining table.

PSAC members in the EB, PA, SV and TC groups are invited to attend national townhall meetings to get the latest updates about bargaining with Treasury Board as we work to secure a fair contract for 165,000 federal public service workers.

PSAC-UCTE members who work for Transport Canada have critical responsibilities to ensure the safety of Canadians as people and goods move across the country, on land, at sea, and in the air.  Our members take pride in their work, making sure that transportation safety standards are met. We are therefore very concerned that Transport Canada plans on contracting out some of this important work. This will include privatizing the testing required to license commercial pilots and aircraft maintenance engineers.

In the last round of negotiations, the Program and Administrative Services (PA) and Technical Services (TC) bargaining units negotiated Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) to conduct a joint study on mental health support mechanisms. The study would focus on PSAC members who may be exposed to explicit and disturbing material, and/or potentially threatening situations while on the job.
