PA bargaining: No meaningful progress after two more days of mediation  [1]

PA bargaining: Treasury Board tables insulting wage offer after almost a year of delays  [2]

Our PA bargaining team spent three days in mediation with Treasury Board, April 28– 30. While we did see some minor movement at the table after months of delay, most of it was limited to editorial matters. The employer remained focused on pushing concessions instead of seriously addressing members’ priorities.

Treasury Board: Invite a bargaining team member to your next union event  [4]

Strong contracts depend on informed and engaged members. Inviting a Treasury Board bargaining team member to your next meeting or union event is one of the most effective ways to keep members connected and build power.

Why does federal bargaining take so long? [5]

Why does it take years to reach a new collective agreement in the federal public service? PSAC’s new video looks at one of the biggest problems in the current system: outdated rules under the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations Act (FPSLRA) that create barriers at the bargaining table and slow the path to a new agreement.

Since reaching impasse, many members have been asking what this means for bargaining and what comes next. One thing is clear: our work has not stopped. Our PA bargaining team met in caucus March 11–12 to analyze options and prepare for the next phase of negotiations.

PA group declares impasse with Treasury Board  [11]

Our PA bargaining team last met with Treasury Board on January 21–22, with the employer refusing to discuss most of our key proposals. After last week’s announcement of changes to work conditions while we are in bargaining, our PA team has made the decision to declare impasse as the employer refuses to bargain in good faith.
